Send measurements we can work from.

Use one unit system and identify outer dimensions versus usable internal dimensions. If you are copying an existing pouch, a photo and drawing help us understand how it was measured.

Measure the usable space, too.

Outer width and height do not tell the whole story. Seals, zipper placement, and the base affect the room available for your jerky.

For stand-up pouches, include width, height, and base depth, plus the units and how the base was measured. For lay-flat packs, include width and height. Confirm the final drawing before artwork begins.

A smaller bag is not always a better fit.

A tight fit may look efficient but create problems during filling or sealing. Review the whole pack instead of removing every bit of headspace.

Filling clearance

The opening needs to accommodate the product without forcing pieces through or contaminating the seal area.

Seal and zipper space

Keep the product clear of the sealing zone. Account for any zipper, tear notch, or header before finalizing usable space.

Filled presentation

Test how the pack stands, hangs, and handles. The bag’s appearance empty is not the same as its appearance after filling.

Validate before artwork becomes final.

A sensible sequence keeps sizing changes from forcing a last-minute redesign.

Establish the starting specification

Send measurements or product details, plus how you intend to pack and sell the jerky.

Discuss a sample or trial fill

Confirm what sample options are available and which dimensions need to be evaluated.

Use the approved production drawing

Once dimensions and features are settled, prepare artwork on the corresponding dieline.
